    Should at least be 50%.

I thought the radio forum was the place for discussing radio programmes and production, not for discussing anybody's wages (as per the charter).

Well they may not like it but I am sure they will understand it.

They have wall to wall coverage every day in their programmes of the hardship people are suffering due to the cutbacks so I'm sure, as some of the highest earners in the country, they will be more than prepared to play their part.

A 30% cut in holidays for most of them wouldn't do any harm either - and it certainly would be warranted as far as The Maid is concerned.

Wonder will Joe proportionally reduce the number of *sighs* and "my gods/well done's/fair plays" per programme to show his disdain ;) ?

Derek Mooney was told his pay wouldn't be touched once he agreed never again to mention Eurovision, Mary Byyyrnre, X Factor and Jedward ever again.................. he's taking the cut.

Oh and on a serious point.... Joe Duffy and Marian Finucane are contractors... There is NO WAY that their contracts should be renewed, never mind a 30% cut...

And dont get me started on Tubridy..

What forum would you recommend then as the ex mod here?

Poor Joe, he will be at the pin of his collar and will be on his uppers

    On his uppers?
He's the only Irishman I've ever heard use that phrase, must be pure Ballyfermot

Well no, this is just to balance yearly budgets.

TBH there should be no-one on over 150k and even that's pushing it. Cut them all right down and see how many will get better offers. It's one thing in the UK where the BBC have to pay near market value for talent but there's no bloody market to set such things in this country.

True, also a 30% cut of Finucane wages is still way too high for two days work that she does. Hopefully her pay cut is around the 50% mark at least. Its not like anyone else in Ireland can afford her.

Thread closed. Radio forum is for discussion of the radio programs and NOT the presenters. As per charter.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.
