Hi, i was using my laptop last night and my two year old ran over and hit some random buttons, he now seems to have disabled the following keys: ertyuio
Everything else is working, any idea on what he could have done?
    Any help greatly appreciated!;)

Do ertyuio have secondary functions? (i.e. there's another word/letter/icon embossed on it in a different colour). Have a look out for it for a function setting that will get them back to normal letter keys. I'm not sure about that particular bunch of keys being used for other functions though.

The connector cable that connects the keyboard to the laptop motherboard could be unseated. If you're able to, check if that's the case. (If you're not sure about how to do this, don't!)

When your child ran over the keyboard, some of the domes underneath the keys could have been damaged. In that case, just get the keyboard replaced.

anybody else have a laugh when you read the keys that weren't working but were typed on the OP, and have a quick check to see that this wasn't AH.....

Anyway, i had a keyboard replaced on my laptop (water damage) about a year ago - cost me 50 notes in a place in carlow that just happened to have a second hand one!

There are plenty, (one even comes with Windows, check the Accessibility options). Click-N-Type Virtual Keyboard being my choice, it's free, portable and an optional Word Prediction plugin is available too.

No idea, sorry. I had to replace my netbook keyboard a while back and the part itself cost about €30 from eBay. If you're getting it done in a shop, don't forget to factor in labour costs as well as the part.

Have you thought about getting a cheap USB keyboard for the meantime? If you look hard enough you might be able to salvage one too.
