Arts degree result calculation

    Hey guys,

Seeing as it's getting close to exam time and it's my final year I've been trying to calculate what type of degree I have so far and what results I need to work towards. I'm doing a Joint Honours in Arts so this is the only year which counts (something which I have an issue with but nevertheless!).

Now I know how to calculate my overall marks for a module but I haven't been able to figure out how the degree is calculated overall. Most of my modules are worth 5 credits except for two which are 10 credits. I've been adding up all of my overall results from the individual modules and doubling the results from the two 10 credit modules in order to get the average. Could anyone more mathematically-minded tell me if this is right because I can't find anything about it on the labyrinth that is www.ucc.ie.

Also, do they seperate the two joint subjects? So you could say you have a first in one subject and a 2.1 or whatever in another?

I'm a bit stressed out because I got a result that I think might be lowering my overall grade so it would be a huge help if someone could put me out of my misery! :(

You should read the first 18 pages here and you should get your answers:

On a side note, I can't believe the amount of people who still don't know about the above link or even the book of modules. It wasn't second year until I discovered them!

Yeah, just after posting this I found a link to that buried in a different pdf to that one. It's amazing how it took me to my final year to find that! Thanks, Walshy. :)

I'm thinking about doing Arts next year in UCC but do you know if I can become a religion teacher if I do Religion and Global Diversity for the 3/4 years?
