Taper question re 2 wk or 4 wk tapet

    Looking for a bit of advice, 5th marathon, 3.40-4.0 hrs avg, doing Rotterdam in 2 1/2 wks, did 21mls with 4 wks to go, ideally it should have been 3 wks to go, did 12 with 3wks to go. My question is should I slip in an 18-20 miler this sat, 15days to go, or should I remain in taper mode, I would prob feel a bit rusty having done my last lsr with 4 wks to go?

    5th Marathon - you should know the answer to this yourself and what suits your legs. I don't like the three week taper and lean towards a two week one myself

    Personally I think you haven't got anything to gain from a 20 miler 2 weeks before the marathon. I'd go for something like 15 with the second half at planned race pace.
