Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone here could help me with this problem? After I finished school I did a plc course but I didnt pass it as basically I will admit I got caught up with the excitment of student life and didnt do as well as I hoped,(I used up my Grant maintenance on that course) this year I did another Plc course and Im on Back to Education but my question is and please god I dont but if I wasnt to pass this would I be entitled to another year of back to education grant? Because Im happy enough doing Plc courses until I find what I really enjoy but if I dont get enough points out of this year I am just wondering what my options I can take, if I am allowed BTE again etc, Thank you for reading and any help welcome!

You must do a higher level of PLC in order to get a grant again. If you previously did a level 5 PLC, you would need to enter a level 6 PLC this year. You should then be awarded the BTEA again.

No you wont get it again if you fail.
However, you will get it again if like the previous poster stated, you progress to a higher level plc. hth

To the first part of your question, presume your talking about the possiblity of having to repeat a year.

    From http://www.studentfinance.ie/mp7928/back-to-education-allowance/index.html
If I have to repeat a year of an approved course and was in receipt of the BTEA, will I continue to receive payment during the repeat year?
Yes, as long as you are registered as full-time on the repeat year and are repeating the year of the course in full (all modules). Do remember however that the student must pay tuition fees to repeat a year. The BTEA cannot assist with this charge.
