Sports Massage - Limerick Area

As the title says I'm looking for recommendations for a sports massage in the Limerick area.

I'm doing the Limerick marathon on Sunday May 6th and was wondering when would people advise to get a pre-marathon massage? Is the week before too close?

Also, having never had a sports massage what should I expect and what do people think are the benefits of such pre-run massages?

    Thanks,
    Dev

I would strongly suggest getting one now a few days before a long run and see how you react to it.

With the race on a Sunday don't get a massage any later than Friday, though Thursday would be ideal. Friday/Saturday would be fine if you were used to it.

I've heard that Paul Murray is good. Metamorhpisis is a Limerick dweller and might have a recommendation, he's usually found in the health and fitness forum though. He seems to have ditched the running :p

Thanks for the advice RQ. It makes sense to try it out before the marathon in case it makes sh!t of my legs.

Thanks folks. Will do a bit more digging on these three and go for one next week.
