AIB Bank debited certain sums without permission

I have just found out that AIB Bank debited two certain sums from my current and savings accounts to cover my credit card. I have always paid payment protection but did not cover the credit card fully for the last year or so. Would you know if the bank can do so without my permission? They have never done so before even though there were always more or less money in the accounts.

Are you in arrears on the credit card?

Pretty sure they're allowed to do this, especially out of a current account. Savings accounts, I'm less sure about.

Yes, it is standard procedure if you are not paying loans etc. It is covered in their terms and conditions.
It is also the main reason you should not have your mortgage etc in the same bank as your other accounts.

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?

This is standard enough. I have seen many current accounts closed down in credit when the persons credit facilitys have not been maintained. They use the balance on the current account to pay the loan.
