I would honestly love to buy this in Ireland.
Can anyone recommend something close to this spec for around this price? I would pay an extra €50/€60 to buy in Ireland.

This is a budget of €999 +VAT (when converted from £STG from pcspecialist.co.uk)
Fast data transfer (ie SSD, USB3, 7200 drive) is important - other elements are less so. Any help great appreciated. Komplett has been down all evening :(

    Thanks!

The closest you will get in "Ireland" would be a Dell XPS 15, with full HD display they start at €919, but you will have to some after market upgrade yourself tho (i.e. the SSD and 8 GB RAM) and the best GPU you can get in these is a GT 540M.

If you want to buy something like this in a store, however, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell, not for 1,200 Euro.

There is the Asus N55SF range which would be similar in spec to that (except without the SSD).

Not exactly an Irish company either, Norwegian is more like it. ;)

And 15" laptops with two disks are exceptionally rare, they'll drain the battery even faster. Hybrid drives will cover that in the near future, I suppose. (There is one of those in the new Sammy Ultrabook)

how close would the MSI GE620DX-691UK at around €1100 inc vat be?
I know the MSI GT683DX-804UK would be closer including the ssd and dual hard drive but is way over budget at nearly €1500.

I was trying to check http://www.maxburns.ie/ for price and stock but site seems to be down

Thanks all for your help & clarifications.
maxburns is still down today, unfortunately.

In the end I went for the above spec - but after reading some positive reviews of the Seagate Momentus, I dropped the SSD and went for a 750GB SEAGATE MOMENTUS XT HYBRID, SATA 6 Gb/s, 32MB CACHE (7200 rpm).

This reduced the price to 775 + conversion to STG + VAT
