What would be the result of taking an e-cig to a concert and through customs?

I'm going to a concert in Holland on the weekend, I'm a bit worried as to how it will look when taking it aboard the plane because I'm only travelling with hand luggage. I'm certainly not intending to vape it on the plane, but would they still have a bad reaction if they saw it. What's the worst that could happen? Miss my flight, or simply have it taken off me? And the same goes for the concert, I don't want to be causing hassle, refused entry etc...

I'd really like to take these with me, as I'll be all over the analogues again without them :(

I don't know which thread I read it in but I do remember reading about another forum member that travelled through airport with one in pocket and didn't have any problem. You are not doing anything illegal so I wouldn't worry too much. Just make sure you take it out of your pocket and put it in the tray at the security check and if they do ask you just tell them what it is. They have probably come across them a lot and know exactly what they are anyway I'd guess. You might even find that there will be no problem vaping on the plane as some airlines actually sell e-cigs on board for people to use.

I've gone though a couple of times and no issues what so ever. That was to Germany not Holland. But I think I read somewhere that Holland has the highest percentage of vapers so should be fine that side also.

That's great thanks, yeah I guess that's the smartest thing to do, rather than act like I'm hiding it. Yeah lol I just done a search there and saw articles about banning them on planes, I was like????? But I defo wont try it unless I'm 100% sure I can use it.

What about the e-liquid? I have doubt's about that like, it sort of looks dodgy like, I guess I should just put it into 1 of those sealable plastic bags. Or am I just safer filling a few carts and leaving the bottles at home?

    Cheers.

I had juices in see though bag. Once you don't bring bottles of 150ml or more you'll be fine.

Cool :) Would the same relate to entering an event? I guess if lots of people use them, it should be OK, the only thing that worries me is on the regulations page it says only gigs are aloud. There's no way to email the specific event either, I emailed a company related to it, but got no reply, they probably thought I was mad in the head :pac:

I went through security in Dublin airport a couple of months ago and had the ecig in my coat as it went through the scanner. They obviously spotted it and stopped me, got me to take it out and as soon as he seen it he said "is that one of them electronic cigarettes".
    No problems after that.

I guess they're defo turning into a thing of normality, I should be fine so regarding any type of security.

I've traveled to the UAE with mine a couple of weeks ago through terminal 2 in Dublin.

Not a problem at all going through security...just put it in the tray with your phone and out the juice bottles in one of the sealable sandwich bags you can buy just before you go through!

    And enjoy awakenings, ya scumbag!

I'm getting old, I don't recognise one name in the lineup for awakenings! When did that happen?

EDIT: Sorry I have heard Carl Cox and seen him live, 1 out of 56? Not too bad, actually that's shocking.

bring them on the plane, get a window seat and stealth vape - that's what I do. hold the vapour in as much as poss - no exhaling huge clouds!

It's the biggest festival in the land for 'underground' techno, probably why ya haven't heard of many of the names, but only the best of the best play at awakenings.

No problem in airports or even using it on a plane. Some airlines even sell cheap versions on the plane.

You might get an odd look but there's nothing illegal about it

I'll think about it anyway :D But maybe I'll be allowed anyway, hopefully :) I wont be too bothered anyway if I can't, I think it's only 2 1/2 hours anyway so I'll get by without it I hope :p

eeloe, where and when is Awakenings? I looked it up there and it says 31st of June I think. Who runs it? Is the 1 your're talking about on this weekend? I'm going to A State Of Trance.

There will probably not be any dubstep at this, about 2 weeks ago 1 DJ played a full on Dubstep and Bass etc... (Opening set) at ASOT and there was murder over it  ASOT fans from all over the world were tuned in, they certainly were not expecting that lol it was a very bad move.

Cool, I'm assuming it's on late at night yeah? would be class if it wasn't :D
Why lol is Awakenings rough or something?

Thanks man, I'm sure I will, they're broadcasting all five rooms if you want to make your own party at home :) It's about time they done that with all 5, it was annoying having no choice but to listen to the main stage.

Awakenings Tickets are sold out anyway

Nah it's not a rough event, i just refer to people as scumbags when I'm insanely jealous of their situation! Haha! Meant no harm by it, just some banter!

Its on from about 6pm-5-6am I think....music would be of the very hard variety tho, Len Faki, Dave Clarke, Speedy J and all that kinda crew.
