3DS Users: Get Fit This April!

You all should be bringing your 3DSes with you everywhere you go, but in case anyone still isn't, I'm going to try to incentivise it a little.

I'm running a competition to see which Boardsie can walk the most steps in the month of April, with the winner receiving a sealed pack of exclusive Club Nintendo Hanafuda cards.

To sign up, simply reply to this thread with "I'm in" or something to that effect.

It would be nice if we could get some healthy competition between members, and the more participants the better. Even if you feel you won't be in contention for the prize, you may as well still sign up and monitor your progress throughout the month.

The competition ends on April 30th, and I'll announce the winner on May 6th, so that gives people some time to post a screenshot of their record.

The prize isn't fantastic, but this may become a sought after collectible in years to come! It sells for around €25 on eBay currently, so getting it delivered to your door for free would obviously be much better. :pac:

If you need clarification on any issue, or you notice any oversight on my part, please mention it before the closing date for entrants.

You should probably get a "Before" pic too... otherwise people who have been commuting for a year would have an unfair advantage.

I don't understand what you mean.

There's an option that allows you to view a single month at a time, so the competition would be just based on April 2012.

I'm out. I walk a lot, but I change the date on my 3DS constantly throughout the day to utilise more play coins

Great idea, but very easy to cheat in too, via a little shaking, and nobody would know any different.

I thought of that, but if you do that you're pretty much giving your 3DS a ****, and nobody wants to be known as a 3DS wanker.

Back in my school days I did 600000 steps a month, I'm at 180,000 for march thus far so I don't think I'll be winning the cards but I'd like to know much you guys have for march?

So yeah i guess technically I'm in.

I only had something like 150,000 for the month of March. I did miss out on an entire week around the start of the month, however.


Just to say the competition is now underway. Feel free to update your steps total as regularly as you want, and please ensure that you update your total at least once a week. This will allow other participants to see where they stand, and I'll also keep a table format showing each participant's position.

@Mods: Is there any way I can edit the first post, or can that only be done within a certain number of days? If that's the case, would one of you mind adding steve r to the list of participants.

@Competitors: Remember to mention how many steps you've done every few days, it keeps things interesting. I did a mere 5000 yesterday, so below average for a day I have my 3DS with me.

I might try running this competition in the summer instead as no one has updated steps and there are very few participants. I guess it's understandable as a lot of people are in the middle of exams at the moment, so I may re-run this in summer instead.

Well I'm running at 41,941 for this month so far, with around 3000 steps most weekdays and 6-8000 steps at the weekend. Doesn't sound like an awful lot given my 3DS is usually in my pocket all the time. Although now I mention it, that does explain all the flab...

Aw is it being postponed? I can update the stats this evening, just working at the moment. I took it with me everywhere and walked extra hard this month.
