Is it fitness for cycling or GAA? Cycling training will get you fit for cycling. It depends on your speed and terrain (hilly or flat). A cyclist doing sportives would do more than that imo. I'm in my 60s, haven't cycled for three months, and started off today with 30 km on flat ground. I'll probably be doing 200 km+ a week.

100km a week, every week will keep you reasonably fit, a bit like a 10 km commuter to work and back, five days a week.
