Rent Allowance Query

    Hi guys

I'm in a shared house and am waiting for a disability allowance claim outcome. Currently on SWA and just granted rent allowance of €55 pw.
(rent is €85 pw, less my contribution of €30 pw)
Just had a letter stating that I have four weeks to negotiate my rent down to the limit allowed, or my rent allowance (which has just started) will cease. However, a couple of weeks ago, my CWO told me it may be possible for all my rent to be covered, possibly to the end of my lease in September, to allow me time to find somewhere else to live. I've found Social Welfare guidance on the web, stating full rent can be paid for a transitional period in exceptional circumstances. I have severe mobility problems as well as mental illness and the house share I'm in, while not perfect, is a safe, positive place to live. I'm dreading having to move.

Has anyone else been able to get full rent paid for a period and what were your circumstances? I'd love to know whether there are cases like mine who have been approved as 'exceptional'. Obviously the social welfare won't tell me what the criteria are though, but I'm going back tomorrow to ask again.

Sincere thanks for any help :)
