Hey guys, Im a drummer and I was thinking of getting a guitar just for jamming at home. I'm a beginner who is interested in playing mainly metal. I'm just interested in what peoples advice would be on which guitar to get. I'm also looking at aquiring an amp of some sort, any advice on that is also welcomed. Ohh and I'm left-handed:(

    Thanks for any input folks!

Also, do Jackson have this guitar in a left handed version?

Is that a Dinky? Pretty sure the DK2 comes left handed. Saw one on Adverts a while back, dunno if it's still there, if it is it was plain black. Because everyone knows lefties are practical people that don't appreciate beautiful paint jobs :(

I was talking about the paint job actually! And yes I concur, :( is a very apt emoticon when discussing the '**** end of the stick', that left handers have to endure!

My advice? Learn the guitar right handed. If you are a beginner it shouldn't matter. You have a better choice of guitar, it's easier to learn from videos, etc.

What's your budget op and what's your preferred guitar shape?

Eh, no! Who are you? the catholic church? I'm left handed therefore I'll play left handed!

Budget???? I dunno! a grand or two perhaps!
I dont really mind what shape to be honest, I'm just looking for my options I guess! being a drummer I know of all the cool nik-naks and where to get them but I wouldn't know much about guitars tbh!

I'm not too clued in on guitars over €1000 euro, but I played a prs lately and it was a great experience! Quality!

You'll find a lot of lefties play right-handed, myself included. Whatever about the lack of availability of instruments, I've always believed that using your dominant hand for fretting notes makes more sense thing just using it to hold a plectrum.

Does this not depend on the style/type of music being played?
I'm strongly right handed, but I can't play notes on a right handed guitar properly because I can't manage the frets with my left hand due to an injury to my left arm. If I just want to pick, I can sort of blur across the frets but I'm generally better off with a left hander.

Dude, my father was the Catholic church. Have you considered piano, perhaps you could get a left-handed one of those too.
