I'm thinking of spending 4 weeks in Argentina this summer (June - July) flying in to BA. Will be traveling solo so I'd like to have some bit of an idea of what to do/where to go and how long to stay in each place before I get there. Just wondering if any boardsies have ideas or want to share their Argentinian experience/itinerary?? Any must dos and not to miss places??
    Thanks :)

Four weeks isnt a whole lot, but you should be able to see a fair bit.

BA is a good city. You could probably spend 5 days to a week there. Maybe hop the ferry over to Uruguay for a night or two.

Iguazu falls - very impressive, but a 24 hour bus ride from BA (48 hours up and back!). Have a look for a cheap flight seeing as you only have 4 weeks.

The one unmissable for me in Argentina is the Perito Moreno glacier. Thats in El Calafate.

Mendoza is a fun city, wine country.

Hiking in Patagonia if that is your thing. Great landscapes.

Basically, get a map, mark off the places you want to see, and plan a route that way :pac:

Don't forget that you're travelling in the middle of Winter so some parts of Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego may be inaccessible.

BA - 5 days at least, great city to chill out in , so many neighbourhoods to explore

Igazu - Stop off along the way at Posades to see the 15th century Missions and head on to the falls. Including the travelling time I'd say 5 days

Mendoza - nice relaxed wine city, they really love their siestas there! Do a wine tour.

El Calafate - glacier is great. This is possibly the furthest south you'll be able to go. If you can make it to Ushuaia I'm not sure whether to recommend it or not. I was there for about 8 days and it's a very boring town especially if you've seen elsewhere in Chilean Patagonia. But if it's your only opportunity so see Patagonia then there are nice scenic parks/reserves, the opportunity to see penguins and seals and the thrill of being at the southern most town in the world.

Transport options between Rio Gallageos, Ushuaia and El Calafate are sparse so book these well in advance. Basically once you arrive in town book your ticket out.

I like Puerto Madryn on the east coast, saw some penguins (possibility of Humpback whales but think you're there at wrong time), great dinosaur museum and took a day trip to the Welsh village of Gainim (sp?) where we'd a great afternoon tea.

Cordoba was a pretty sleeply place with not much happening.

Didn't get to Salta but hear it's good, particularly for adventure
    sports.

I'd imagine you'd also have time for a 2 day trip on the ferry across to Uruguay as well, I'd recommend Montevideo over Colonia.
