    This is something that should really be answered by a doctor or medical professional/health nurse.

    In my non medical expertese opinion, it would depend what is triggering it. If it was caused by a viral problem then I would try not to be around the child.
    On the other hand. if it was caused by a skinful of stout and a dodgy kebab, then you should be OK around the child.
