Have just been wondering about this one. Can't get anything on Google.

Does anyone know of Clubs that have reversed an amalgamation after joining up?

In Dublin it's very common at underage level: you have the likes of Parnells and Craobh joining up to form St Davids (believe this is up to minor level!)

At adult level, the only example I know of would be Robert Emmetts and James Gaels who joined together progressed up to Inter level in football.

    They have since disbanded.

Not sure how it came about, or why - but that's the only one I can think of!

Don't think there has been any in Kildare at adult level, it's common at underage level though as sometimes numbers are tight.

Arles Kileen and Arles Kilcruise were once one team in Laois but they broke up after some dispute.

Going off topic a bit but I remember speaking to someone about this before. Didn't one club end up eventually breaking into 3? As far as I know, one of these clubs (with very small numbers) ended up winning the senior championship. Very interesting story if I remember right..
