Hi all, long time reader, first time poster.
I'm just wondering ,I have a Nikon f55 and the auto focus has stopped working. I heard that it was a problem with this model. Does anyone know if I can get it fixed for not too much, just that I can't afford to go digital and anyway, I still love the results you get from film.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks all
    LR

    you -could- potentially try Nikon:

I don't know if you need the original warranty or not though, it's worth a punt. This was down to some defective part that most original F55's shipped with, IIRC Nikon actually extended the warranty on the F55 specifically because of this problem.

Failing that there are a couple of Nikon film bodies on adverts, you could probably argue the sellers down to about €50 or so and pick one up. Or there's always EBay. If you can't get Nikon to do it actually buying a new (second hand) one would probably be cheaper than trying to get it repaired.
