Carrier updates are usually over the air, who are you with? If its ICS you are looking for then you might be waiting a while.

    im with 3.

i got the phone in september of last year.

should i not be running a newer version of both Sense and Android though, regardless of ICS?

Yes, I think you should have had an update by now. Maybe best bet is to contact 3 through boards or twitter? They should be able to help you.

If you are any way technically minded however try XDA forums and install a custom ROM. You won't believe the difference in performance from your phone. Plus you never have to wait for carrier updates!

Take your time and follow the steps and it's actually not that difficult! It's just really downloading and installing a few zip files and follow the instructions to the letter. Here's where I started: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472298

Well worth it in my opinion and lots of help over at those forums.

three offer the 2.3.5 update over the air. open settings then about phone, then search for updates ... then once it's downloaded run a backup using your computer, then update.

make sure your phone is plugged into the charger or usb port on your computer and fully charged.
