Semi-auto has stopped working on my dboys scar recently. I opened it up and cant figure out if it needs a new cut off lever or switch or if its something else....... If I was to install a mosfet would it cut out the need for the cut off lever and switch? Where would I get a decent one? Cheers lads

MOSFET's are great, and I'm only a recent convert to them - never got around to them until quite recently.

However, I think you're better off fixing the problem first - if your gun could fire semi, would you still want a MOSFET? If not, then save your money. Or if you do, and would like the features MOSFET's offer, then select a suitable MOSFET and purchase/install it :)

Does your gun fire in Full Auto on Semi-Auto, or not at all? If it is firing full auto on semi, check the cut off lever to see if it's worn - you can rescue a cut off lever by extending its reach with a bit of epoxy :) Check the springs on the cut off lever, and make sure everything is functioning as it should, but I would be 90% sure it's just a case of replace or repair your cut off lever

btw yes its firing full auto in semi and the selector plate and spring are fine

kinda going in a different direction here, but have you checked the selector plate itself on the outside of the gearbox? does the safe setting still work and can you pull the the trigger in the semi setting?

ignore me then, although i would fix the gearbox first like previously mentioned

no not ignoring you any reply is greatly appreciated.all of what you said in your previous post works fine i just forgot to mention sorry!so what do you think?

it more than likely is the trigger block thats wore down where the cut off lever makes contact with it.mosfets are great but not nessessary.it wont fix your problem though

didnt literally mean ignore me :P my advice is listen to Kev :) (Inari). you're better of fixing the problem first and then building from that, other wise you may end up with more problems than you started with

I agree with NMTB it is probally due to the lobe on the moving trigger contact wearing where it makes contact with the cut off lever
