Summer time on Saorview epg!

    My Sony PVR HDT 500 did not automatically change the time to summer at the weekend. I re-installed channels and result was that summer time was on Freeview epg and not Saorview. I then went into recorder set up and set time to GMT +1 which did the trick. While setting time to auto may fix the Freeview epg to summer time (at least the manual says this) it won't do it to Saorview epg.

    A problem with most "Freeview HD" gear. At least you have a solution. You'll have to undo it in the Autumn.

    Some Freeview HD gear has this problem, some do not. It seems to depend wherever they recognise a GMT offsets & DST flag from non-UK transmissions. For example my TV (Sony) and PVR (Philips) handle it fine, but another (Metronic) doesn't.
