Hi - am visiting this weekend.
Any idea what would be a child and baby friendly restaurant in town (accessible to Ormonde hotel) that would be open but not booked out for a sitting at about 5pm Saturday evening.

Nice food is obviously the aim, but for us amenability to the children is of far more importance than flash cuisine.

    Thanks

Sol on William street or Zuni on Patrick street are worth a try.

When you say child and baby friendly do you mean somewhere where that has a kiddie zone? Sorry to sound flippant but I can't think of any good eateries in town that also cater for active kiddies.

There is a dinner that has kids play corner where they can go nuts while you eat, it's beside Lidl on the Waterford road. Can't think of the name at the moment. Otherwise it's Supermacs on the high street or Mcdonalds further up patricks street.

The Orchard out on the ringroad has good food and a secure kiddy playground that can be viewed from your seat.

Thanks for the reply. No - when saying child friendly I'm only thinking somewhere which will provide a child's menu/ portions; and which will generally have a family clientele rather than hens / hi falutin gastros....

Not looking for anything as child orientated as play zones, just a venue where they will not be considered a noisy nuisance for other diners.

The orchard is a pub? Sounds like might be a nice option if the weather stays good.

Forget Sol, it's just one big room. I think it's worth your while having a look at Zuni then, they're two parts to it and you could be served in the smaller part. Great food there by the way.The Italian Connection at the other end of Parliament street that might suit too.

If the weather is good then the Orchard is the best option for the outside playground but that takes you out of the town.
