    this may be a silly question but i'm not very technical. just had a satellite dish fitted and now intending to buy a freesat box. if i buy a freesat SD box, will it work with an HD tv?

    Yes, via scart or component connection. Better off getting the HD as the cost difference will not be significant (and the FTA HD channel quality is excellent) unless you want to push the boat out;)

    Thanks for that. Would it connect and work via HDMI lead? Have two HD tvs. Am buying and HD recorder for the main use one but want a simple cheaper box for the second set.

    Yeah, you are better off getting a HD Freesat box:

    Its about €120 euro from PowerCity.
    SD box would set you back about €60. But more and more channels will add HD channels as time goes by. Better off just getting one outright.
