Does anyone know a website that has irish player speed stats? Or more to the point, how fast could the duffer run 100m?

Players 100 Metre times are never timed because that distance is too long for them & soccer is more about short bursts
id say his best 100 Metre time would have been about 11.5 Seconds in his prime 6 or 7 years ago

looking at Duff nowadays I'd say it would easily take him 13 seconds to do 100m

Prob around 11 sec in his prime.

I don't know whether he was that quick, I know he was fast in bursts but look at the likes of Asafa Powell and Usain Bolt and they're built like tanks so I can't see Duff getting to around 1 second less over 100m

No chance. 11 seconds is VERY fast.

    In a car maybe.

I would say he does the 100m in about 40-45 seconds; he'd have to turn back a few times as well, maybe 1m 25s then so.

No chance Duff runs for 11 seconds straight without falling over at least a couple of times.

He would take a tumble or two before reaching the finishing line.

I'm reticent to even post this as I know I'll get stick for mentioning the 'f' word (fifa) but that game uses stats to give players attributes. One of the categories is 'sprintspeed' where players are rated out 100. Now don't ask me what these figures are based on but I guess since the clubs are all licensed that maybe the makers of that game have access to club records or employ someone to watch video and estimate their speed etc.

Some of the fastest players (score out of 100 - according to the game!)
    94	Theo Walcott (England)
    94 Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)
    94	Jonathan Pitroipa (Burkina Faso)
    93	Aaron Lennon (England)
    93	David Odonkor (Germany)
    93	Chinedu Obasi (Nigeria)
    93	Jonathan Biabiany (France)
    93	Luton Shelton (Jamaica)
    93	Marvell Wynne (United States)
    93	Dominic Oduro (Ghana)
    92	Joffre Guerrón (Ecuador)
    92	Gabriel Agbonlahor (England)
    92	Hans Julius Norbye (Norway)
    91	Ashley Young (England)
    91	Jermaine Johnson (Jamaica)
    91 Crusat (Spain)
    91	Arjen Robben (Holland)
    91	Jakub Błaszczykowski (Poland)
    91	Eljero Elia (Holland)
    91	Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon)
    91	Miloš Krasić (Serbia)
    91	Ignazio Abate (Italy)
    91	Vladimir Bystrov (Russia)
    90 Apodi (Brazil)
    90	Quincy Owusu-Abeyie (Ghana)
    90 Jesús Navas (Spain)
    90 Nilmar (Brazil)
    90	Seydou Doumbia (Ivory Coast)
    90 Maicon (Brazil)
    90	Obafemi Martins (Nigeria)
    90	Daniel Larsson (Sweden)

Anyway, regardless of that I can't tell you what Duffs 100m speed is but in the game at least they've awarded a score of '80' so they hardly consider him a world beater. Incidentally Shane Long was rated the fastest sprinter in the Ireland squad with 85.

Anyway those numbers are just for fun so take them whatever way you want.

BTW, the fastest footballer sprinter I've heard about was German international Andreas Moller who reputedly had a 100m of 10.09s (highly doubt it but there you go).

    Marvell Wynne (United States)

I'm not sure if this is the best or worst footballer's name I've ever heard.

This is my favourite at the moment :D if his Football manager stats are to be believed, the name suits him too
