Anybody here know if sky will give even for a small fee access to the 3D channel without the movies package, I have the HD and sports but don't want the movies.

    I doubt it.

When I asked for 3D originally, they said I had to take the movie package. I recently spoke to them about dropping movies and they confirmed I would also lose 3D

Personally I would add the movies and activate the 3D Channel
I would then wait about a month a request to cancel my account they normally offer a 255 reduction on pack so this would more then cover the charge of the movies that you added

    Hi Guys

I wuld apprecaiate any comments on this problem I am having with Sky 3D

I recently puerchased a Samsung 6100 model for around 800 euro. I am also a Sky World subscriber so I get Sky 3D free. When I put on chanell 217 I get the double screen which is stunning quality. I then press the 3d button on remote and choose split sceen option. Activate the glasses but the quality is nowhere as good as the original picture on 217 which is stunning.

    Am I missing something?

    Any help appreciated

That'd be because Sky 3D channel isn't really HD, as that squashed side/side picture is stretched to fill the screen, ergo horizontal resolution is halved, as each side is stretched and alternated.

On a few occasions I've found the quality on 3D quite poor. This only happened on sports. During last years Wimbledon Womens final I couldn't watch it on 3D is was so bad. A friend of mine has an LG 3D telly with passive glasses and his perfect - he even recorded it to show me.

99% of the time the 3D is superb - especially films.
