Hoping to get some advise. We recently got a small piece of land / large garden for sowing some potatoes and veg. Its well grazed and I wondered what the next steps are. I've been told to spray the ground with roundup before turning it over and then a run with a power harrow. Is that it ? any recommendations ? thanks

dont know about using round up in a veg patch. but we would usually plough, rotavate, put drills in part of it and form raised beds in a few sections. Theres a lot of work in an acre of veg if its your first time.

I have about 1 acre, divided in 4, Pigs get 1/4, potatoes get 1/4 & veg gets 1/2 ( including some feed for pigs)

this year i sprayed, to kill weeds, waited 2 weeks, ploughed & tilled with spring grubber, sowing potatoes tomorrow.

I will rotavate, with garden tractor, just before sowing veg, I sow on the flat, easier sow & weed, there is a type of steerage hoe for the Garden tractor

Spray, plough, till, sow is what we do. I agree with Chippy above, an acre can take some minding!
