    Hi everyone,

I'm really interested in setting up a camera on a nest this year and time is running out really. I don't really need the nest box as we make our own but I saw this option on Bird watch Ireland's website:

    http://shop.birdwatchireland.ie/birdwatchireland/product_info.php?products_id=847&osCsid=p3r8s47vphb68ri64c0sd6m6i7

Has anyone used this particular model?

I'm interested in the technicalities of how this works too, what type of input does it have to The recording device?

    Any other recommendations?

I can search the forum when I get home as I'm sure it's been discussed before.

As I said I don't need the nest box but it wouldn't go to waste.

Also would be interested in any low budget option people have used as it would be cool to set up a few or one at a feeder.

    Thanks a lot.

I built a three DIY cam boxes using components bought on a certain well known auction site. But if you're not into DIY, the Birdwatch box is good value. You'll need special software to feed the signal into a PC and record it. You'll need some one who is computer savvy to advise on that. Or watch on the TV and record onto a VCR without needing all that hi-tech stuff;)

After all my hard work all I've had is 2 half built nests in 3 years:mad: I did get a hedgehog on my homemade hog box cam though.

Here's the type of camera you should use, 9V, cheap and has infra red. You'll also want a cable of whatever length you require and a 9V adaptor. All available on fleabay.

I think the connections are called RCA.
