    I have a huge semi final debate tomorrow nd i urgently need points. The topic is that this house believes advertising is becoming a menance and i am OPPOSING this topic. Any help would be great. Tks

    You could argue that interruption marketing (buying ads on tv/radio/etc) is a scourge but modern, opt in marketing like facebook pages, twitter, etc is of absolute benefit. People choose to find out about brands/services/products they are interested in and interact with them.

    Because people are better than ever at filtering information advertising now has to entertain and educate and prove that they can actually add something to your life or it will get found out very quickly.

    You could also bring up the KONY 2012 campaign which could be argued to be advertising to put a stop to child soliders and prostitutes.
