Lost tax refund cheque

Hi, first off, I had no clue where to put this, so mods feel free to move it to the most appropriate forum!

I got my tax refund as a cheque in the post in January. However, I put the cheque away and since I haven't lived at my parents home since then, I have no idea where I put it

Just want to know, is it possible to get this cheque replaced and the other one cancelled? I can't find any information anywhere about it. Thanks in advance.

Just call Revenue and explain the cheque's been lost. They will issue another.

Better still contact Revenue and ask them to put a "Stop Payment" on the cheque, just in case it finds its way into the wrong hands. They may ask you to put your request in writing. When their Bank confirms the "Stop", they will then arrange to issue a replacement. Be aware this could take 3/4/5 weeks. If you find the cheque after you request the "Stop", do not cash or lodge it.It will bounce.
