    Hey,

So, I've been doing a bit of research the last few months looking for a decent, worthwhile volunteer placement that focuses on the teaching of art and craft as a new skill and income source.

I would really like to pass on my knowledge and teach people skills that can help them to provide for themselves.

I have travelled throughout Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia-I'm well aware of the dire situations that a lot of the population there are trapped in and I really don't want to end up on a 'tour' where the only contribution I make is coming from my wallet.

While I would like to return to S.E Asia, I would also be looking at programs in East Africa and South America-has anybody had any experience/ recommendations for these areas?

I've found three places that I would really appreciate some feedback on if ye have any:

    http://www.artrelief.net/ Thailand

    http://artforchildrenuganda.org/ContactForm2.html Uganda

    http://www.volunteerchallenge.com/CONTEMPORARYARTMUSEUM.htm Bolivia

    Thanks! :D

Hi, don't know anything about those particular projects but if you haven't already, I'd recommend you speak with VSO Ireland. http://www.vso.ie/

    This could be useful too

Thanks for the advice Suzie! I don't intend to go until this time next year but I wanted to start checking out my options now because I'm still a student and the finances will need to be planned ahead! I'll let you know how it goes :)

that sounds fantastic! I have an interest in art and have a dream of becoming an art therapist. I am currently looking for volunteer work in relation to arts and craft but I have no experience teaching it. I have no idea where to start :(. let us know how u get on though :)
