    Hi guys

Has anybody had lessons with Jussi Pitkanen ? I think at the moment he's with Pelz at killeen castle. Just looking for a bit of feedback on your opinion's of him regarding getting lessons from him.

    Cheers.

Did a short game school at Killeen about two years ago with Jussi. He used to work in the shop in Navan GC, tho I stand to be corrected on that. Got lucky in that I was only person that night so had him to myself. Not particularly good, not particularly bad I would say. Taught me three different wedge shots; chip & run, lob and sand shot. Basically it felt like he was fairly robotically repeating what he'd been told at Dave Pelz staff training day. Would give him 7/10 for the coaching - the chip & run technique was pretty helpful - and 6/10 overall, I deduct a point for annoying name dropping of stars he talked to while 'over with Dave'!!!

On an aside, coaching is entirely a personal experience. If you like the guy and what he's telling you works, great. If you don't, then move on. Golfers often spend too long with the one coach and place too much faith in them. I speak from experience and a season ruined by listening to a certain pro in the Swords area....
