    Is anyone familiar with how this works ,I got the form but it does,nt tell me what period of tax payment it covers and the percentage of likely repayment

    It can't tell you the percentage of likely repayment as everyones tax situation is unique to them. The form P50 is used only for the active tax year. In this case its 2012. If you are looking for a refund of tax from any other period other than the active tax year, just login to your online account and request a review (p21) for that year.
