Saorview epg

    What is your experience of the Saorview EPG on different devices - TVs, STBs, etc?

    My own experience on a small number of both high end and low end TVs and stbs leaves me a bit underwhelmed when compared to the speed, responsiveness, slickness and ease of use of the Sky epg.

    Is it odd that I find the epg on a cheap Chinese STB far slicker and me-friendly than a 2 orders of magnitude dearer top end Samsung. Does the preview pane significantly slow things down?

    Opinions, suggestions..?

    No but tried NTL Communications Ireland and Chorus Communications and found they left me vaguely unsatisfied and pecuniarily challenged.

    Please feel free to elaborate, comparing and contrasting with Saorview, making copious use of Venn diagrams and charts to illustrate your answer and justify your preferences (:rolleyes:) bsf

    Well everything else is much faster than a UPC one. So be thankful for that. Its the general consensus that the Sky epg is much better than the rest, its also the most expensive. Consider that its their main product whereas its not for the hardware manufacturers, its an added extra. So it probably doesn't get the same attention lavished on it.

    I expect you're looking for suggestions as to the devices with the best performing Saorview EPG. That I can't help you with. I just thought I'd bump your thread with a reply, because I'd be interested in that also.
