Has anyone any idea how much a conservatory 14 ft x 8 ft would cost so I have a figure to work from before getting quotes. The walls would be blockwork plastered 2ft to cill height , thanks.

Depends on a number of factors.

What type of roof are you thinking of
Polycarbonate, Glass, or a solid roof construction.
    Two storey house or bungalow.
Any drains, AJ's etc to move.
Are you up against the boundary with your neighbour, if so a full height wall, inside the boundary.

So for a Poly roof, say, 15K,
    glass, add 2-3K
    Solid roof add 5-8K.

These assume, foundations, dwarf walls, DPC insulation etc, concrete floor, electrical package, heating, all internal walls plastered, and insulated, external render to match house, path surround,

Get a few quotes and post details here, what area are you in.

Thanks for the reply, sorry didnt reply sooner was away. The conservatory would be a simple lean to roof in glass with an electric storage heater, no drains to move. Just wanted a ballpark figure to work to. Based in the Gorey area.

Had a conservatory but not any longer you cant heat the damn things in winter no matter how much insulation you have, demolished mine and built a large family room.
Just something for you to consider.
