Library shelf request/Stacks request problem

Hi! I'm trying to request some LEN books on loan and also some stacks books on tcd.ie/Library via the catalogue. I keep receiving the error message 'No items requestable, request denied.' whenever I try.

This has been happening since last Wednesday evening, when I reported it to a library attendant who said she'd heard of it happening to several others that day as well.

I have €5 in library fines on my account, but I thought all my activity was okay up until €10 was racked up, so I don't think it's an issue of fines.

Can anyone help? I have an essay due next Friday and really need these books!

    Thanks

You may borrow books with fines up to €10 because Library Staff have the abillity to override the system. However, you will not be able to order books online or reserve books until you pay off the fine. You can pay online if you have a credit or debit card - here's the link - http://www.tcd.ie/Library/using-library/payment/library-payment.php

    Hi Unshelved,

Do you know what sort of turn around there is on books finding their way back to their shelfmark? Maybe it's impossible to say. I photocopied something the other week, heard someone come into the photocopying room, they cleared the trolley (around 2pm). I was looking for the report the next few days and it wasn't back in its box for a little. It was an OPUB report, not a textbook. What happens if something is left on a desk or trolley? I presume there are no guarantees it'll be back in the system the next day. Stuff must always be on the move and some things probably fall through the cracks for a little while.

    Hi Black Oil

Shelvers TRY to have everything returned to their proper place on the shelves by the time the Library reopens at 9am. However, that's not always possible, especially at this time of the year when the Library is particularly busy.

If it still hasn't turned up then you can fill out an OPUB Query Form - http://www.tcd.ie/Library/opub/contact.php#OPUBEDCQueryForm
    - and we'll try to track it down as soon as we can.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. :) It turned up in after 3-4 days, maybe it was over a weekend, which may be why. I don't recall. By the way, is there a limit to the number of stack requests graduate readers can submit at once? Nothing fancy, just standard textbooks.

In my experience, there's a cap on four stack requests at once. But I'm open to correction.

Almost right. From the webpage - "Only five Stack Requests in total may be be open at any one time; more requests made will be ignored."
