Hey I was just hoping to get some opinions on this, im lucky enough to be heading to the states and was hoping to pick up one of these. Im looking here for one

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&_dynSessConf=1911989003859276543&id=pcat17071&type=page&st=asus+eee+pad&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=15&sp=&qp=&list=n&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960

Ive spotted this refurbished one and was thinking of going for that.

However, the latest one here looks like it might be worth that extra amount.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Transformer+Prime+TF201+Eee+Pad+Tablet+with+32GB+Memory+-+Gray/4038674.p?id=1218450204286&skuId=4038674&st=asus%20eee%20pad&cp=1&lp=3

Im just hoping to get opinions. This will be used like any other tablet, just for streaming videos and checking the internet. Most importantly Id like the screen display to be good. As you can see im not the greatest for checking spec so any opinions would be greatly appreciated. :D
The first two are the old model.. I'd be more inclined to get the prime.

    Where in the states?

Pensylvania. Im starting to think the Prime T201 will be the best choice as its quad core, but says it comes with honeycomb which only uses 2 cores. Would it be possible to put ice cream sandwich on this myself just so i can utilise the who quad core ability? Again im a total newb!

BTW, I was in the states about two weeks ago and was unable to get one in either a bricks and mortar shop or online. So its worth acting on if you make your mind up what you want...

There will be an automatic update as soon as you turn it on and have a Wi-Fi signal. Tip - after installing ics do a factory reset for super smooth operation.

The prime is currently the best Android tablet available.I got mine last week and love it.

yeah i see, it actually looks identical to the asus in terms of spec. Comes with free office apps and the camera is slightly less, plus its also a small bit thicker. What do people think? asus or acer? only $50 in the difference

For me the Asus is a premium product. Besides the spec, it is made of high end materials and feels good to hold. I don't know much about the Acer, but have some reservations about their build quality based on past experiences.

I have the Acer A500 for the last year and it's a quality piece of kit. Build quality is superb and the version of android is as close to vanilla as you'll get from any major manufacturer, there's no crapware on it at all. If the A510 is half as good then it'll be a great purchase.

In a similar situation, I was trying to buy an Android tablet (Acer Iconia A500 - great tablet, btw!) from BestBuy for delivery or shipping before Christmas and had an absolute disaster. The situation may have been worsened by pre-xmas sales, but whatever 'in stock' items I ordered, proved to be out of stock over the course of the subsequent 5-10 days, which is pretty crap when you are travelling over there and hoping to pick up the item in-store or having them delivered within the US.

So if you can, order from Amazon.com for delivery to wherever you are travelling (and avoid sales tax). Don't assume that because you place an order on BestBuy for an in-stock item, it will actually be available when you get there.

Also, if buying refurbished units, you would be wise to check out the warranty to ensure it's an international warranty, rather than a 'country of purchase' warranty.
