Heard this at the conn game last night, can anyone back it up,

apparently they see no chance of getting a central contract, mcfadden is still looking for one!

They are based in the UK at the moment?

Iirc, the IRFU are reducing their central contracts to 22 so I wouldn't be surprised if what you say is correct.

What contracts are they on at the moment?

If a player is English and they want to play for their country, there's nothing anyone else can do about it.
Who are these alleged players, by the way?

I don't mean "How can anyone sign for England"

I mean "How can anyone sign for England?"

They haven't made any additions the the EPS and certainly haven't added any ex-Irish u20s.

Unless someone has misunderstood a conversation about someone like Bracken or Doran-Jones?

It was from a Stewart at the conn game, it's more declared than signed

Did he mean McKinney/Annett and those signing for English teams next season?

That really is more to do with too much competition for places in Ireland next season than anything to do with central contracting. None of those have declared for England.

Why start a thread about something you don't know is true or have any information to back it up?

First you say sign, then your next post you mention declare??????? which is it????

Its not like you heard whatever it is you heard from some of the back room staff for Munster/Connacht. It was some random stewart, if there was a thread started here for even random rumour that is talked about in the stands at a match it would be a mess!!!!

Isn't McKinney going to Exeter or someone like that?? Never heard about Annett, that would seem to be a strange one imo. I thought he was highly rated and that they'd like to keep him... Best isn't going to last forever and there's not many better players to learn from.

No, it's Whitten that's going to Exeter, haven't heard anything about McKinney

Both McKinney and Annett are rumoured to be going to Bristol, who are probably favourites to be promoted to the Premiership next season.

AFAIK they've both already signed for Bristol.

    Whitten is going to Exeter.

Ok so instead of what the title implied, which was that Irish players were going to play for England over Ireland (which would be huge news if true and 3 players) actually 3 Irish players who have not nailed down a starting place at their province may be singing for second / third tier English sides.

    Not exactly ground breaking news.

Definitely nothing whatsoever to do with central contracts.

  • o god what if England found a loophole and stole tony buckley off us :D
