I bought TP-Link TL-WR1043ND as a solution to Thomson UPC problems and I decided to flash dd-wrt. on it
    I hit few problems:
dd-wrt manual tells "don't use firefox, use IE" - WTF? I'm hardcore linux user and IE is not an aption. Anyone tried to flash DD-WRT with firefox, chrome, iceweasel?

There is an option to use ssh. How can I ssh to that router? I tried:
    ssh 192.168.1.2 - no go
ssh root@192.168.1.2 - no go ( suggested by dd-wrt manual)
    ssh administrator@192.168.1.2 - no go
    all ended with:
ssh: connect to host 192.168.1.2 port 22: Connection refused

    telnet - the same story:
    Trying 192.168.1.2.23...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
    telnet: no connections result

You can't ssh to it before you've flashed it.

Just download the "factory upgrade" DD-WRT image and flash it from the web interface.

    You're making things needlessly complicated.

This is not a broadband issue. Moved to Wireless.

You're probably right, but dd-wrt page is full of warning how to avoid bricking the router. And that command about IE/firefox is weird.
Anyway I'll try iceweasel, but I thougth there is ssh access with original firmware.
