so about 2 months ago my upper jaw near the hinge/ear was pretty sore
and clicking from time to time.the pain wasnt too bad more of an annoying
type pain, but i decided i would go get it checked out.
so got a xray and they said i need to get my bottom wisdom tooth
taken out cause its not coming up right.but i told them it was my upper jaw
that was sore.but they said its all connected so my bottom tooth
is the cause of my upper jaw being sore...
so went through the nightmare off getting my tooth out for 350..
then now about 6 weeks later its still sore.for the first couple of weeks i was on pain killers.then afterwards i thought the pain was from them ripping my mouth apart since a my friends said i'll be in bits for a month+ after getting wisdom tooth out.

so what should i do now?go back and say they prob made a mistake and took wrong tooth out?
or anyone know what the problem could be?

It seems that you are suffering from TMJ (Temporomandibular joint) disorder.

Do you have malocclusion? This can cause TMJ problems.

Are you grinding your teeth at night? If you are not sure, ask your partner (it can be quite noisy) or go to a dentist who can probably detect grinding by checking whether your teeth are worn in a certain pattern.

In any case, here's what I suggest to alleviate the pain and possibly improve the situation:

    1. Put hot compresses on the jaw where it hurts.
    2. Take magnesium supplement.
    3. Try using Aqualizer to balance your jaws and to protect from grinding at night. I've been using it for about half a year now and it helps.
    4. Try to relax yourself. Sometimes tension can cause such issues.
    5. If your neck and back are also stiff, that can affect TMJ. An osteopathist can help reposition some joints without any pain.

This is not true, there have been many large studies done that show definativly that people with malocclusions dont have a higher incidence of TMJD than those without. Its nice to have straighter teeth, and its a good treatment just not for TMJD.

Again no proven effect on TMJD.

Best advice is go to your dentist who can treat your pain or refer you to somebody that can. Best not to take internet advice as ones person treatment may be totally wrong for you and cause more damage.

My dentist diagnosed me with TMJ - and sent me into the dental hospital that confirmed this diagnosis.

To be honest we could all guess here based on similar issues but your best bet is to seek a medical diagnosis or a referral to a specialist from your dentist if necessary.
