Transferring flights at CDG

I have to fly to Dublin next week from Sofia and Air France are the only ones that provide any decent service to suits my needs.

On the outward leg I has a 4 hour layover in CDG. Would this allow enough time to go into Paris for a look around? Is this even allowed?

On the return there is only 45 mins between the flight from DUB arriving at CDG and my onward flight to Sofia. Is 45 mins enough? I would assume it is Air France's fault if their connecting flight is late. I can run fast but I am more concerned that my bag would not make the connection. The DUB-CDG flight arrives at CDG 2E and the SOF flight is from 2F. Is there a huge distance involved?

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Never been to CDG, but it has a reputation as being a very trying airport to to use.

    🧐IMHO, God wants us all to ENJOY many,many ice-creams , 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

4 hours isn't really enough to go in and see Paris IMHO. CDG is quite far out.

45 minutes is tight, bu doable. Air France will be responsible for missed connections etc if your inbound flight is late etc.

I have done the Dublin Sofia and back through CDG.

4 hours won't be enough to let you go to Paris.

45 mins is a tight connection but when I flew, i was flying into the same terminals as you and our flight was delayed by an hour so our connection was reduced from 1 hour 50 mins to just 50 mins. I made the connecting flight quite easily.

You will get off the plane and you will need to hurry, but you take the underground train and it's a few minutes walk after the train. Make sure you know the way to the terminal from where you get on, google the CDG maps and you'll be fine.

If the plane is delayed, AF staff will probably be waiting at the gate to take you to the next plane but if you do miss it due to a delay, AF are obliged to put you on the next available flight.
