Anyone else noticed that F1 coverage this morning stopped just as the program began and returned when the program ended.

UPC insist it was a technical fault, repaired by their technicians...

Getting Sky HD + installed at 12 today, and I've cancelled my contract with UPC.

If it was a tech issue that UPC could fix how come Setanta on Sky had the same problems?

I suspect some kind of last-minute legal issue. As previously said, Setanta Ireland programming came back on at exactly 0930.

I read somewhere else that live Qualifying was available on Setanta-Eircom (Eircom website streaming). So they had the feed.

I suspect that Setanta were exploiting a loophole by having UPC not supply Sky Sports F1, thus perhaps entitling Setanta Ireland to screen live F1, and that Sky Ireland now finding a way to legally block this. Speculative, but it's the best I can think of.

Not optimistic about the race tomorrow.

Apologies for the problems with our coverage of #F1 qualifying this morning. All sorted now and race will be broadcast live as normal

I think you need to take the tinfoil hat off to be honest :p

The race was on Setanta last week. No reason to think it wont be on tomorrow.

Technical issues this morning for Setanta - nothing more nothing less.

I would expect you will find that the Setanta operation is automated - this appeared to be the case with the ad insert last week. There have been issues previously with other sports coverage going to black screen or no audio or audio out of sync........its operating on a shoestring so its to be expected - better then nothing though !

Ya it was how it leaves Setanta. It leaves by fibre and uplinked to sky and UPC. The fibre went down.

Ya it would have left the building on a different fibre for the HD channel but the SD fibre supply's both SKY and UPC
