    excuse my stupidness, but why do i have to enter code to get to other channels on sky and why so :confused:

    If you have a pin set up on any channel - then a pin is required for 'other channels' .. which is logical

    You can turn the PIN on/off for different channels, mainly depending on viewing age, from the menu.

    I tried to turn off the PIN request for the 'Other Channels' but there doesn't seem to be a way of doing it.

    So does that mean if you use your Sky HD box as a FTA with an Irish card that every time you switch channels using the 'Other Channels' button you have to enter a PIN? If so no wonder people are getting FTV cards!

    At last look there were few normal channels that dont appear on the standard epg.
    Apart from Ch4+1 and ITV4+1 and maybe UTV/BBC1regional there is little need for other channels.
    The only way to set the PIN is with card, so removing the card also removes PIN

    PIN request on Other channels is because it could be possible to view a restricted channel here otherwise.
