PC - Engine Purchase?

Hey retro followers, I think its right time to add to my retro collection....bloody have extra money now that Sensation White Norway was cancelled:(

Thinking of getting a PCEngine, what do you think of this one:

Do you think its worth it? Am I better getting a Jap one? Easy to mod for rgb? Top 5 must have games

Yes. One of the best consoles ever made.

Am I better getting a Jap one?

Yes. A Core Grafx II at the very least or get a Duo-R or Duo-RX (same console, different control pad). Don't get the original white PC Engine, it's NTSC-J RF only. Don't get a Turbo Duo as they're unreliable and don't get a Supergrafx unless you have a Duo-R/RX and/or a Core Grafx II (and attachments) already.

Budget for a multitap (all PC Engines only come with ONE control port), Arcade card and/or CD attachment (super hard to find in good nick and/or working).

Bottom line? Just get a Duo-R or Duo-RX. Extra money well spent. Or get a pre-modded one like my Duo-R that has a new laser, full RGB modification and custom made RGB SCART cable, access LED modification and a multiregion switch so you can play both Hu's and Turbochips.

You're forgetting Tyoushin Heiki Zeroigar. But it's a) incredibly expensive b) the only (released) SHMUP for the PC-FX and c) not very good.

Buy a jap one if you can, get the Duo R as the CD-roms are region free (and easy to c**y)
