... has apparently, unbelievably, been arrested again, for the fourth time in as many months. What is going on with this guy? Good scrum half but he's throwing his career down the toilet. Its an accusation of sexual assault this time.

This is also getting increasingly awkward for Conor O'Shea, I mean, what is he supposed to do now, having stood behind him the previous three times? Big test of his management skills to see how he handles this, and/or if he can get Care's career back on track.

    Link?
Danny Care, the Harlequins and England scrum-half, has been arrested for a fourth time since December, this time in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a woman.

The allegation relates to an incident in the early hours of Mar 4 outside a hotel in Leeds.

The 25 year-old, denies the allegation and voluntarily assisted police with their enquiries “by appointment” on Mar 15. He was formally arrested and released on bail “pending further enquiries.”

He's been questioned about it. Dunno about arrested. (Reporting live from the Stoop here! Few raging harlequins fans not very happy)

    Police harassment? ;)

I meant raging more as a description of the dedication to their team, but I'll accept it was a poor choice of words.

Never rated him. Ben Youngs is a much better scrum half.

Are English rugby player's personal life standards becoming really atrocious lately or do they come under more scrutiny in the English media than their Irish counterparts do?

    Both perhaps.

I think Care is a good player, just a bit hotheaded. Makes a few embarrasingly bad decisions. I think he's been better than Youngs this season although I haven't seen a huge amount of him.

The first 2 are over 10 years old and the Kilkenny one was a NIQ player.

I know we could go digging for more stories but they just don't seem as bad as the stuff the English guys get up to.

I'm sure plenty of Irish players have pissed against a Wall. This is just an alleged assault too so maybe we should wait to see what happens with it.

Its alleged sexual assault though so if proven true its a damn site worse than a drunken scuffle or pissing on a wall.

It's still alleged so he has not been found guilty of any crime yet.

Terry Gormley, after years of criticising the Irish squad on their performances underwent a role-reversal of sorts when he started writing for the Irish Times as a Rugby Journalist and has not been known to criticize the Irish setup since then. He also changed his pseudo name to Gerry Thornley to avoid confusion.

I know that but if found guilty it wont be a slap on the wrist and a couple grand fine, its a serious offence. Pissing on a wall or a skuffle is just drunken stupidity, most of us have been in that position at some point ourselves. I'm just saying this isnt comparable to the usual stories we hear.

But as you say its only allegations so far.

It should be noted that Harlequins are directly behind Care in this situation.

He does have form on this, but, the club are straight out in defence of him on this one.

Don't see it coming to anything.

On Care as a player, I like him. Got real dog in him, even is, as somebody said, he can be hotheaded. Brilliantly quick and always looking for the quick tap.
