    So it's that time again.

Nomination forms were in this week I believe and campaigning starts next week, with polling and counting the following week. Anyone know of anyone who's running?

I've heard of a few, no idea if they're confirmed though so I won't mention them.

hard to believe it's been a full year since the last ones.

i'm sure we'll have a full idea of the candidate list by monday latest.

I pray they go easy on the postering this year,
Trying to get society event posters up that time of year is a nightmare.

All we need is a few facts about what they stand for. Not wallpaper made up of their face.

    I'm voting Kodos this time.

I've become so apathetic towards these elections. It just seems like every year the candidates make a ton of promises they cant keep.

    PRESIDENT:
    Paul Doherty
    Rob Hennelly
    Dave Johnson
    Declan McCool

    EDUCATION OFFICER:
    Aaron Clogher
    Lisa Craddock
    Oisin Kelly
    Anne-Marie Tackney

    WELFARE OFFICER:
    Neill Collins
    Jimmy English
    Aisling Foley
    Amy Lucas

    HUMANITIES CONVENOR:
    Kenneth Browne
    Seamus Kiernan
    Richy O'Connell

    SCIENCE/HEALTH CONVENOR:
    Sarah Flanagan
    Aideen Holden
    Robbie Reid

    ENGINEERING/COMPUTING CONVENOR:
    David Cordial

    BUSINESS CONVENOR:
    Stuart Anderson
    Neil Mulhern

    SOCIETIES OFFICER:
    David Healion
    John Sullivan

    CLUBS OFFICER:
    Lorna Finnegan
    Packie McCarthy

A lot of the positions are really hard to call. For Pres it'll be a straight fight between Rob Hennelly and Paul Doherty, Hennelly shading it for me. Although he's a very nice guy, I don't think Aaron Clogher is heavily involved in various societies like Lisa Craddock is. I reckon she'll get Education. Welfare is Neil Collins' to lose in my opinion.

Convenors: Don't know much about the Humanities candidates. Can't imagine Eng/Comp students would be cruel enough to reopen nominations. Neil Mulhern will breeze through Business. Science/Health is a very interesting one. Aideen Holden would have been my favourite to get it but she's on erasmus in Australia at the moment, so I can't see her campaign taking off that well and Sarah Flanagan is a much better candidate than Robbie Reid.

Societies: I know David Healion and he's a popular guy. Can't say I know John Sullivan at all.
Clubs: Lorna Finnegan. She'll have Womens GAA, MPS and RAGSoc behind her. Having 2 of the biggest societies in the college should be a huge advantage. Packie McCarthy will have the rugby lads behind him and they'd have links with DanceSoc and StyleSoc, so it won't be set in stone. Finnegan would be my favourite, though.

I'm going to suppose you haven't seen the hub yet then? :P It was like walking into a breathtaking tropical jungle made of campaign posters when I went through earlier.

I think it's great to see so many people running. Personally I really only know a lot of the students on the Science/Computing side of things so I can't really call any of them, but there's a few positions I'd be hard pressed to decide on who to vote for, which I think is always a good sign. Hard pressed because I think they're all equally worthy that is. Not that they're all a bit crap, as in a few previous years.

I think Anne-Marie would be perfect for Education.

For Welfare I'm torn between Jimmy and Amy.

Going to wait for hustings to decide on press although Paul is currently probably who I'll vote for.

Im feeling pretty in the dark about what anyone actually intends to do, or am I voting for them based on looks?

I'm sure you've seen me around somewhere. (Covertly putting a link to my page with my manifesto into my post. :P)

Also, hustings are currently on, I'd recommend anyone who's around to head down to the venue!

so its Paul for Prez, Aaron for Education and Neill for Welfare.

No surprise with the Prez. was always a two horse race with Paul and Rob.

Thought Lisa Craddock would get Education with the votes from the likes of Dance, Drama and Style Soc voting for her. Having Oisin Kelly (dramahead) on the ballot probably split both of their first preference vote. Must say i dont know Aaron too well, didnt even see a facebook campaign page

Could have been Neill, Ais or Jimmy for Welfare. Thought Ais would have been a better choice given she has expereice on exec as a convenor, but these election unfortunetly often come down to who is more popular. Will be interesting to see Neill on Exec without Rob. Two of them always together

I Think Aaron will be a great Education officer, Always comes across as fair and not afraid to speak his mind.

As for his Campaign I think he just pounded the pavement. When he spoke to our class , he came across as a solid down to earth candidate, with a good working knowledge of the su and class rep systems.
