Strong / weak transponder identification ?

    Just a quick question for the brains in here. How do you guys know which are the strong and weak tps on a given sat ? Is the information on lyngsat ? Just trying to gain some knowledge as I go. :o

    It's mostly compiled by enthusiasts with a meter, a well aligned dish and some time on their hands!!

    Yeah, had that bookmarked already. Just wondering how the actual info was sourced. Must have plenty of time on their hands if that detail is all worked out from scratch:)

    It doesn't take very long to get a rough idea of what is the strongest tp on each satellite at least. I did a list for my location last year. It is well out of date now but I could update it presently if anyone is interested.
