grass-seeds with a wagtail

    sowed grass seeds this way before.i need to repair a paddock so i was thinking grass harrow,broadcast with an abbey wagtail fert spreader and roll but for the life of me cant remember settings or speed.if anyone can please post

    Trial and error is your best bet. Set the spreader at a low setting and put in half the seed. I have a vicon and set it to 7 in 6th gear with a ford for half seeding rate.

    mix seeds well with fertiliser after workin out ratio of fert to seed per area and proceed to spread fertiliser as normal works for me

    and think there is a link to an older one again in there. I'd say throw in a bag of seed on it's own, level it off and draw a line at the top of the seed with a permanent marker. It depends a bit too on how worn the plate is at the bottom of the hopper. Somewhere around 6 to 10 and drive with the wheel tracks only about a foot apart.

    If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

    Just wondering where is the best place to buy seed.Kerry agribusiness want 75 euro a bag and if u buy 5 u get one free which makes it 62.50 a bag but thats grand if u want alot.Any on line companys that have been tried and tested by farmers on this site.
