Hi Im a bit confused is there two grants or just one? I always thought there was just one and I know i would be eligible for the full maintenance grant so would that mean i am eligible for the fee grant and therefore have my student contribution fee paid for me along with me having the extra 3000 from the maintenance grant?

You can get a grant, a fee grant or both. If you're on BTEA(back to education allowance) you will only get the fee grant/redg fee. The same applies for students who have not lived in Ireland for the three years out of the last five BUT did live in the EU.

All other students are eligible for grant and fees provided the income is under the limit. If if were already in college previously, and repeating the same level, you need to ask your local VEC about the rules

    There is one grant system.

If you are eligible for the full maintenance grant then yes the fee grant is included

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    It's on page 35

These are the 2011/2012 reckonable income limits - 2012/2013 will be different limits
