    anyone know what a deed of assention is with regard to inheritence,estate is been divided equally but I am buying out one party.their solictor suggested the best way was to have a deed of assention.

    A Deed of Assent is a document whereby an executor of a will transfers title of property to the beneficiary entitled under the will.

    I think the suggestion is that, instead of transferring the property to both of you as beneficiaries, and you then buying the other beneficiaries share from him, the executor will transfer the entire property to you, and make it up to the other beneficiary with other assets of the estate that would otherwise have come to you as part of your share, and you'll all sign a deed saying that you are happy with all of this.
