    Hey guys was looking at this course and was wondering is anyone doing it or know about it ? Whats its like? Is it a good course. What kind of stuff do you do?

    I'm in the audio stream and consider it tough enough, granted I didn't expect the course to contain as much computer science modules (About 70% if I was to guesstimate).

    Don't let that put you off though, I tend to procrastinate a fair bit and I've noticed the lads who put in the effort have no bother in getting through it. If you're not long after your leaving you should be grand maths wise. Was never any good at it myself and I've had to go back to basic arithmetic and try and catch up.

    There's one or two (imho) filler modules that overlap from applied computing, that if you're audio based, could bore you to tears. The majority of the lecturers are great.

    From what I've heard from the lads doing the games stream there's a lot more programming and maths involved, but may as well leave it to one of them to chip in with their opinions.

    I'm in the audio stream too. Really enjoy the course, if you're interested in all things to do with "digital creativity" (poor umbrella term, I know :P) it would suit you. There is a lot of programming, but to be honest, its not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. I agree with the previous poster, theres a few filler modules, namely the networking modules. They're so boring and useless if you're interested in audio only. :/ But anyway, would defo recommend it! :) Really fun course too, and there's hardly any boring bits, (besides networking, UGH)

    Old thread, but for future reference.

    I'm moving into 4th year games, love the course. Basically you are doing an Applied Computing course with games mixed in. It's programming heavy, but there is no other way in making games! With programming, if you keep on top of it you're fine, if you don't you're dead. Also with the games stream you are doing so much programming your skills are pretty much akin to that of any other Computer Science graduate, so you have the option of software development as well as games development after college.
