A few of us are heading to Hamburg where we have a rental car booked for 2 days. We intend to drive to Berlin and return it there. Since Berlin is only 3 hours away and we’ve got 2 days we need a very long detour :)
What would be the best places to visit en-route or slightly off-route, keeping the total distance to no more than 600 km or so?

    Hamburg (HH) - Lübeck(HL) - Wismar(HWI) - Rostock (HRO) - Berlin (B)
This route is about 420 km. It's mainly autobahn.
HL-HWI-HRO are serviced by the A20 "Ostsee (Baltic) Autobahn.

    Extras
From Lübeck, one can drive 20 km to Travenmuende, its port and beach area.

After visiting Wismar one could drive on the B106, national primary road, to Schwerin, state capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Meck - Pomm).

After Schwerin, one returns to tha A20 Autobahn and drives to Rostock.
    Rostock's sea resort is Warnemuende.
(Die Warnow = river, Mund =mouth, here Estuary)

H in the vehicle registration denotes a Hanseatic town, HL is Hansestadt Lübeck.
